SEOUL, May 17 (Yonhap) -- Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk has expressed his stance on the management dispute with Min Hee-jin, the CEO of ADOR, stating, "Actions driven by individual malice that undermine the system should not be tolerated."
This marks the first official statement from Chairman Bang following the management dispute.
On the 17th, during the hearing for the injunction to prohibit the exercise of voting rights at the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Division 50, Hybe's legal representative publicly disclosed excerpts from a petition written by Chairman Bang.
In the petition, Chairman Bang acknowledged, "There are opinions that see issues with Min Hee-jin's actions within the multi-label system." He asserted, "No matter how sophisticated the system or meticulous the contracts, they cannot completely prevent human malice."
He emphasized, "Actions driven by individual malice should not undermine systems that many people have built over a long period. Our society's system should prevent individual malice and misconduct from undermining social institutions and order."
Regarding the management dispute, Chairman Bang stated, "We view this case not only as an entrepreneur's mission to create a better creative environment and establish a sound system but also as a critical perspective on setting correct rules and precedents for the entire K-pop industry." He added, "As a leader in the industry, we are committed to making efforts and utilizing our resources to correct the situation."
He expressed regret, saying, "As an entertainment company that should deliver joy, we deeply regret causing concerns to various members of our society and the public." He concluded by expressing hope for the court's wise decision to reject the injunction application.
On the same day, both sides engaged in legal disputes over the legal interpretation of Hybe's shareholder meeting voting rights. Additionally, there were heated exchanges over allegations of Min's involvement in shamanistic management practices and suspicions surrounding AILEE's new song's similarity to NU'EST's song.
Min Hee-jin has filed an injunction with the court to prevent Hybe, which holds an 80% stake in ADOR, from exercising voting rights for her dismissal at the upcoming ADOR interim shareholders' meeting scheduled for the 31st.
If the injunction is rejected, Min's dismissal will be confirmed. The court aims to reach a verdict before the interim shareholders' meeting.
