SEOUL, May 27 (Yonhap) -- Actress Lee Yo-won portrayed the character with belief who educates the children in her way and resolves the relationships among the elementary school moms in the "Green Mothers' Club."

Lee played Lee Eun-pyo in JTBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama which ended on May 27th. When asked about the relationship with the other mothers in a written form interview with Yonhap News Agency, Lee said, “We are like old classmates from school.”

“Green Mothers’ Club” is different from previous dramas that deal with the competition in education. The series center on the relationships and the stories of mothers rather than focusing on the grades of the children.

Lee Eun-pyo, played by Lee, is a character who seems quiet on the outside but is full of the desire to gain recognition and has an inferiority complex.

Lee Eun-pyo can’t hide the discomfort in meeting her rich and talented friend Jin-ha (Kim Gyu-ri) in the new neighborhood and is confronted by Byun Chun-hee (Choo Ja-hyun), the most powerful woman among parents in the town.

The actress said, “Lee Eun-pyo is second in command,” adding, “She has more greed compared to her talents and because her goals are always too big, she has strong feelings of inferiority to other people.”

Lee said, “There were times when I felt frustrated or sorry for Eun-pyo,” adding, “But I’ve never thought that she was a goguma character (literal meaning: sweet potato, an idiom to express frustrating situation).”

Lee added, “While there are people who say everything they want to, there are people who don’t share their thoughts or feelings."

The actress talked about the plot which deals with the intertwined relationships among characters by saying, “When you look inside, it’s all about the stories of people these days. I think the point of this drama is that ‘You can become friends even when you first met with intentions.’”

In particular, Lee Eun-pyo and Byun Chun-hee began with a hostile relationship, but the two exchanged help with the children’s problems, engaged in emotional fighting regarding Jin-ha’s death, drifted apart, and developed into a relationship that relies on each other.

Lee explained, “Eun-pyo and Chun-hee’s relationship has a natural give-and-take, and the two become close and sometimes grow apart,” adding, “It’s just like the relationships between school girls.”

Jin-ha is also a character who has a big influence on Eun-pyo. Eun-pyo has felt inferior to Jin-ha from school, and Jin-ha also stole away her boyfriend from her. In the new neighborhood, Jin-ha was living as the wife of her boyfriend back then.

Lee said, “The relationship of Eun-pyo and Jin-ha is also one we can commonly see between girls.”

The actress explained, “I think rivalry always exists even if we want it or not,” adding, “Eun-pyo and Jin-ha had a bad relationship, and the closer they were, the more miserable Eun-pyo felt in front of Jin-ha. To Eun-pyo, Jin-ha was someone who she couldn't overcome no matter how she tried.”
