SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) – K-pop girl group Weeekly’s Shin Ji-yoon will leave the team due to her health issues, according to the agency IST Entertainment on Wednesday.
IST Entertainment said, "We have continued to discuss health issues not only with the singer but also with family and specialists," adding, "We agreed that Shin needs an environment where she can focus on her mental state and treatments afterwards.”
The singer has halted her activities twice as she complained of tension and anxiety since the debut in 2020.
Weeekly will perform as a 6-member group except Shin Ji-yoon, including members Lee Soo-jin, Monday, Ji-han, Park So-eun, Zoa, and Lee Jae-hee.
IST Entertainment said, "We ask for your constant support so that Shin can have a speedy recovery of her pleasant and lovely energy," adding, "Please give warm support to the six Weeekly members who will show even greater performances."
