SEOUL, July 17 (Yonhap) -- Rock band Geenie, which recently reunited after 28 years, will hold a fan concert titled "hello again" on Aug. 30 at the Centennial Memorial Hall of Dongduk Women’s University in Seoul, the group said Thursday.

Geenie was formed in 1995 as a project band by singer Shin Sung-woo, Jang Ho-il of 015B, and bassist Lee Dong-kyu, formerly of N.EX.T. The group gained popularity with hit songs such as "What Is This."

After releasing their second album "Elephant" in 1997, the band halted its activities. However, earlier this year, core members Shin and Jang announced their return, joined by Nova Sonic bassist Kim Young-seok as a new member. They released new tracks "Turtle" and "LOG" in late April to mark their comeback after 28 years.

The upcoming concert is designed as a special meeting with longtime fans ahead of the band’s year-end tour. In addition to performing songs from their previous albums, the band will present hits from Shin Sung-woo and 015B as well as cover songs, offering a musical journey through Geenie’s past and present.
