SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) -- The 13th Daegu International Beauty Expo will be held at EXCO from June 11-13, the Daegu metropolitan government said Tuesday.

 

A total of 153 companies specializing in cosmetics, beauty devices, medical beauty services, nail care and hair products will participate in the event, operating more than 200 booths.

 

During the expo, visitors will be able to purchase selected products at discounts of up to 85 percent and take advantage of promotional offers such as buy-one-get-one-free and buy-two-get-one-free deals.

 

The exhibition will also showcase the latest K-beauty trends through displays featuring IT-integrated beauty devices, customized cosmetics based on skin analysis and a dedicated medical beauty pavilion.

 

To support participating companies' overseas expansion, organizers will host export consultation sessions with 35 buyers from 12 countries, including Canada, Japan, China and Thailand.

 

Additional programs will include business meetings with major domestic distributors, as well as a series of competitions such as the Daegu Mayor's Beauty Competition, Barbering Skills Competition, International Skin Beauty Competition and Nail Beauty Competition.

 

Local universities, including Yeungjin University, will also operate various beauty-related programs and provide information on academic majors and career opportunities in the beauty industry.

 

Citizens wishing to attend can enter free of charge by registering in advance through the official expo website (www.beautyexpo.kr) by the afternoon of June 10, organizers said.
