SEOUL November 2 (Yonhap) -- Former executive producer of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun-suk denied accusation related to him trying to cover up drug charges being held for B.I, former member of K-pop boy group IKON.

Presiding Judge Cho Byung-koo from Seoul Centra Court of Justice hosted a hearing on November 1 related to Yang Hyun-suk’s case on reprisal, threatening under the category of additional punishment law on specific crimes for threatening singer in training who testified K-pop artist B.I. of purchasing illegal substance, who was arrested by the police on August of 2016.

Prosecution assumes that Yang Hyun-suk met up with singer in training and stated “You will be working within the same field with me, and it is very easy and simple for me to terminate your career, you should be a good person.” adding “If you turn over your sworn testimony we will pay you certain amount of money and assign you lawyers.”

When Yang Hyun-suk’s defending lawyer asked him “Is there any of the facts charged that you have actually stated?” former executive producer denied most of them by stating “Majority of them are not true.”

Continuing on, Yang Hyun-suk stated while recollecting memories from the past “I said you should be a good person because I was worried about trainees tapping into drugs.” adding “More than half of the time spent talking to the trainee was under a caring atmosphere.”

Former executive producer of YG, Yang Hyun-suk instead that he has never threatened anyone and put emphasis on the impossibility of such sort by addressing “I remember being really careful when addressing the topic” adding “It is highly unlikely for me to have addressed it in such manner.”

However, singer in training who has testified against B.I who appeared on to the court on April testified, “He threatened me to a point where I felt like if I didn’t listen to him now I would die. And was not the Yang Hyun-suk I once knew.”
