License version of S.Korean original musical 'Marie Curie' to premiere in Japan

SEOUL December 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean original musical “Marie Curie” has successfully sold its license to Japan, as a result the musical will be premiering in Japan with the Japanese crew.

Production company Live addressed on Monday, that Japanese entertainment company Amuse will be showcasing the musical “Marie Curie” on March 13 up until March 26 at the Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo and at Umeda Arts Theater in between April 20 until 23.

Musical “Marie Curie” which will be premiering its first ever musical in Japan, will feature number of well known cast members such as Manaki Reika, from “Elisabeth,” “Phantom” and more will act out the lead role of the musical. Overall directing has been done by the award winning director Suzuki Yumi.

“Marie Curie” which premiered in 2020, deals with the story of Marie Curie’s life. The musical received five of the awards including “Best Musical award,” from the Korean Musical Awards, in 2021.

Cast of the musical “Marie Curie” was officially invited to the “Warsaw Music Garden” on July of 2022 and on November they successfully showcased “Marie Curie” in London.
