GOYANG, Oct. 20 (Yonhap) -- Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province announced Wednesday that it will hold the "2021 Goyang Coffee Culture Festival" at Ilsan Lake Park between Nov. 19-21.
The festival, which is held under the slogan "The World's Biggest Cafe," will hold an industrial zone involving coffee-related industries, a cultural zone with local cafes, and a healing zone where people can enjoy their coffee.
Lectures by coffee experts and barista experiences will be held at the flower exhibition hall and book cafe located indoors. .
The festival was originally planned to be held in October, but was postponed for a month due to the spread of COVID-19.
Goyang City expects the event to become a stepping stone in developing Goyang as a coffee city that encompasses the production, processing, distribution, and consumption of coffee.
Cities in Gangwon Province, South Korea, including Chuncheon and Gangneung have already established similar coffee festivals.
