SEOUL, Apr. 21 (Yonhap) – tvN’s new Friday and Saturday drama “Sh**ting Stars,” which depicts the story of people in the entertainment industry who struggle to make celebrities shine and stand out, will be first aired on Apr. 22 at 10:40 .m.

Director Lee Soo-hyun and the cast introduced at a press conference held online on Apr. 20 that the drama portrayed the reality of the entertainment scene.

“Sh**ting Stars” contains the meaning in Korean “People who clean up the messes created by the stars.” It depicts the romance between Oh Han-byul(Lee Sung-kyung), the head of the PR team at an entertainment agency, and her enemy Gong Tae-sung(Kim young-dae), the top star who is absolutely perfect.

Lee Sung-kyung said, “Compared to the actual entertainment scene, it has about 95 percent in synchronization with the reality,” adding, “There are many interesting episodes, and what actually happens in reality is all described in detail, so I felt like introducing our work to viewers.”

Lee’s partner Kim Young-dae said, “It was my first time playing the role of a top star, but I learned a lot on the spot by watching Sung-kyung and Yoon Jong-hoon, who played the head of the management team.

The production staffs also said that they worked hard to sincerely display the stories of the characters and convey the real mood of the entertainment industry that people are curious about.

Director Lee Soo-hyun said, “The drama contains the story of how managers and reporters work and how the drama is produced,” adding, “The charm of ‘Sh**ting Star’ is that it deals with the stories of people’s lives in a humorous manner.”

She then hinted, “Viewers will be able to relate to the scenes where the actors say that they are close colleagues even though they know that they are actually dating.”

Director Lee explained the difference from existing dramas set in the entertainment industry, saying, “We didn’t need to solve the case by featuring villains, but we rather showed everyday stories of the characters.”

Lee mentioned, “The episodes humorously deal with the everyday lives rather than pointing out the particular case,” adding, “I hope nobody gets offended by the drama when it is being aired.”

Yoon Jong-hoon plays Kang Yoo-sung, the head of the management team 1 at Star Force Entertainment, who is often called the “unicorn of the management industry,” while Kim Yoon-hye plays Park Ho-young, a former bodyguard who now works as a passionate manager. Besides, Park So-jin plays Jo Gi-peum, an entertainment journalist who is straightforward and faces the harsh reality, and Lee Jung-shin plays Do Soo-hyuk, a leagal advisor who is rich and talented.
