SEOUL, Apr. 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korean red-hot rookie girl group IVE’s Rei will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities due to health reasons, the group’s agency Starship Entertainment confirmed Tuesday.

The agency brought this urgent news to this six-piece group’s official fan cafe, writing, “Rei has not been feeling very well recently by having frequent heart palpitations and physical stifling. She made a visit to the hospital for professional consultation and examination, and she was told by the medical staff that she needs to get a sufficient amount of medical treatment and rest in bed.”

“Following a careful discussion with Rei, we have decided for Rei to take a temporary hiatus from group activities for her quick recovery,” the agency added.

Earlier during the press conference held on Monday, Rei caused fans to be worried after stepping out from the group’s first full album showcase event, citing her poor condition. She was seen at the photo wall event but was unable to remain for the rest of the program due to her worsening condition.

Meanwhile, the rest of the five members of IVE, who just unveiled their very first full-length album “I’ve IVE,” will be continuing their group activities for the time being.
