SEOUL, July 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean beauty company APR recently hosted senior executives from Amazon's Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) division at its second factory campus in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, to showcase its integrated manufacturing and logistics system, the company said Monday.

 

The visit was arranged to provide a better understanding of APR's manufacturing and logistics capabilities amid growing global demand for K-beauty products. Piyush Saraogi, vice president of Amazon Global FBA, was among the executives who attended.

 

The delegation toured the two-story logistics center, where they examined the company's production facilities and automated logistics systems.

 

According to APR, the visitors focused on the manufacturing process for its flagship beauty brand "Medicube," its smart factory-based automation system, and its integrated production and logistics operations.

 

APR said it has established an operational foundation capable of responding to growing global demand by becoming the first Korean beauty company to internalize the manufacturing process for home beauty devices.

 

Completed in May 2024, APR Factory's second campus produces the company's AGE-R home beauty devices under the Medicube brand and has an annual production capacity of up to 6 million units.

 

The company said the facility enables it to respond flexibly to rising global demand through real-time monitoring of production across all processes and a data-driven manufacturing management system.

 

APR is also working to further enhance system stability and production efficiency.

 

"The automation of production lines is being expanded in stages to increase output," the company said. "We also plan to extend automation to assembly and inspection processes for some beauty device product lines."

 

Medicube recently ranked No. 1 in major search categories and placed among Amazon's best-selling products during Amazon Prime Day events held simultaneously in the United States and Europe.
