SEOUL, April 22 (Yonhap) -- The auction bid for the Hanbok attire that BTS member Jimin had worn for his performance at the Gyeongbokgung Palace, has been canceled.
"Designer Kim Ri-eul, the consignee, is feeling a great burden this clothing piece submitted to the auction is reflected only as a commercial appearance," auctioneer My Art Auction said on Thursday. "The designer is worried that commercial activities would harm Jimin's global status overall."
After much consideration, My Art Auction announced to had agreed with the consignee to cancel the release.
MY Art Auction was planned to submit the Hanbok suit worn by BTS member Jimin during his performance of "IDOL" and "Dynamite" in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall at Gyeongbokgung Palace at the online auction starting from today.
To promote the beautiful figure and artistic value of Hanbok, the auction started at 5 million won.
The stage where Jimin wore a Hanbok suit was broadcasted on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in September last year.
