SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Yonhap) -- Rookie boy group YUHZ said Wednesday it hopes to follow in the footsteps of Rescene and become a group that brings success to a small agency.

"The senior members of Rescene, who are called a 'miracle of a small agency,' have been a great inspiration to us. We want to become a group like a 'lottery win for a small agency' by following in their footsteps," Bohyun said.

The five-member group, which debuted in May with its first single, "Orange Record," spoke with confidence, their eyes sparkling with ambition. Now five months into their debut, the members showed a mixture of excitement and nervousness ahead of their first comeback.

"Watching Rescene, we realized that opportunities come to those who are prepared," YUHZ said. "We also worked hard preparing our new album. So many people are working hard for us. Of course, we'd like to achieve our goals as soon as possible, but even if it takes a long time, we definitely want to achieve them."

Their first mini album, "B," set for release at 6 p.m. Wednesday, features five tracks, including the title track "B.B.B," as well as "Here We Go" and "Moonlight."

"B.B.B" is a title track that expresses the group's ambition to make the name YUHZ known to the world.

Leader Hyo described it as "a song that serves as YUHZ' declaration of intent," adding, "We worked hard to show a more confident side of ourselves and stronger teamwork."

Yeontae said he liked "B.B.B" from the first time he heard the demo.

"The chorus is also powerful, and I liked the lyrics, which contain a strong and straightforward message," he said.

Bohyun said the group "maintained its refreshing quality while also incorporating a more mature side."

"There is a line in the title track that says, 'Our story that we will overcome endlessly,' and I can relate to that," he said. "I want to show how YUHZ can continue to grow without limits."

The group name YUHZ comes from "Your Hertz," conveying the meaning of scattered waves coming together to become a single piece of music that connects you and me.

Junseong recalled a special memory from the group's 100th-day anniversary concert.

"One fan shed tears, and when we heard they were tears of joy, it gave us a lot of positive energy," he said. "It was a proud moment because, just like our group name suggests, it felt like we were connecting with each other through YUHZ' music."

The members are former contestants on SBS' audition program "B:MY BOYZ." They formed the group in August last year and have spent more than a year living and working together.

"At the time of our debut, we couldn't say things to each other that might hurt one another. We were timid about giving feedback," Ja il said. "While preparing for the comeback, we spent much more time talking and gave each other candid feedback on things that could help. I think that strengthened our teamwork and helped us grow quickly."

Their experience on the audition program also became valuable nourishment for their growth.

"There was a day when we started practicing at 10 a.m. ahead of the final stage and finished our schedule at 7 a.m. the next day," Sechan said. "It was extremely difficult at the time, but after getting through it, I gained the confidence that there was nothing I couldn't do."

Bohyun said the group had "roughly doubled the amount of practice" compared with its preparations for its debut in order to put on a good performance this time as well.

Asked about their role models, the members did not hesitate to name BTS, Stray Kids, Seventeen and Pentagon.

Bohyun also mentioned girl group I.O.I., rather than a boy group.

"They are also seniors who came from an audition program," he said. "They reunited recently after a long time, and their activities overlapped with ours. It was nice to see them still getting along and taking the stage together. We also want to become a group that continues to receive applause for a long, long time, even as time passes."

The group also expressed its ambition to hold a solo concert.

"We're releasing more and more songs under the name YUHZ, so we want to build up our catalog and eventually hold our own concert," they said.

Sechan said he had envied senior artists who interacted with fans and shared their joy during encore stages after winning first place on music programs.

"I really want to win first place during this promotion," he said.

Japanese members Hyo and Kai said they wanted to repay their families for their support and encouragement.

"I still receive pocket money from my parents, but I want to succeed and become a good son who can give them pocket money instead," Hyo said.

YUHZ also expressed hopes of appearing on entertainment programs.

"Our chemistry is really good," the members said in unison. "We're confident that we can do well not only on stage but also on entertainment shows."

"We want to appear anywhere, including YouTube entertainment programs such as 'Idol Human Theater,' 'Workdol,' 'Kkondae Hee' and 'Queen Gabi.' We're an athletic team, so we're also confident about MBC's 'Idol Star Athletics Championships.' Just invite us."
