SEOUL, Jan. 21 (Yonhap) --

"'Secret Sunshine' was an intense, almost brutal set. This time, we promised ourselves we would enjoy the shoot. It was such a healing atmosphere that I actually wanted to go to the set as soon as I woke up."

Actress Jeon Do-yeon said filming her new Netflix film "Possible Love" with director Lee Chang-dong — their first collaboration in 19 years since "Secret Sunshine" — took place in a warm and upbeat atmosphere.

Jeon made the remarks during a panel talk at the "Next on Netflix 2026 Korea" event held at a hotel in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, on Wednesday, recalling that laughter never ceased on set.

"It was surprising how much we laughed throughout the shoot," she said with a smile. "Even director Lee said himself that he had become gentler."

Set to be released on Netflix in the fourth quarter of this year, "Possible Love" marks Lee’s first film in eight years since "Burning" in 2018.

Jeon and Lee last worked together on "Secret Sunshine" in 2007, a performance that earned Jeon the Best Actress award at the 60th Cannes Film Festival.

"The story follows a couple who have lived completely opposite lives and whose everyday routine begins to fracture," Jeon said. "I’m curious myself about how the film will turn out, and I hope it becomes an opportunity to discover a new side of me."

The panel session also featured lead actors from upcoming Netflix series set for release this year.

Son Ye-jin, who stars in "Scandal," said the series would introduce global audiences to the beauty and elegance of traditional Joseon-era hanok architecture. "Scandal" is a series adaptation of the 2003 film "Untold Scandal."

"We tried to express an aesthetic rooted in historical authenticity, with a sense of restraint and space," Son said. "The subtle colors and the spatial beauty of hanok are captured in detail, so I think overseas viewers will feel, ‘I didn’t know such beauty existed.’"

Son plays Lady Cho, a woman who challenges the limitations imposed on her gender by entering into a dangerous love wager — a role portrayed by Jeon in the original film.

"Hanbok looks beautiful, but once you put it on, you can barely move," Son said, sharing behind-the-scenes anecdotes. "For months, maintaining a rigid posture without even being able to cross your arms or legs was quite a challenge."

Park Eun-bin, who stars in the fantasy series "The Wonderfools," said filming went smoothly thanks to strong teamwork. The series reunites her with director Yoo In-shik, who previously directed her hit drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."

"Since the director and I already knew each other so well, everything clicked naturally," Park said. "The chemistry with the cast was also great, and it was my first time working with Cha Eun-woo, who is currently serving in the military."

Describing her character, a superpowered woman named Eun Chae-ni, Park said, "She’s so reckless and playful that her nickname is basically ‘a total mess.’ Please look forward to seeing what kind of superpowers she uses in the show."

Nam Joo-hyuk, who stars in the Eastern fantasy historical drama "Donggung," teased visually striking action scenes.

"I performed a wide range of action sequences," he said. "I think viewers will see a lot of dynamic and visually impressive moments on screen."
