SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) – Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Headquarters, announced that it will produce a "K-lobal Taekwondo" video and release it on YouTube to make it easier for the general public to learn Taekwondo, on Tuesday.
"K-lobal" is a word derived from "Korea" and "Global."
The video consists of a total of four series.
Chris Johnson, a broadcaster from the U.S., will learn basic Taekwondo moves, kicks, self-defense techniques, and sparring from the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team and carry out missions, which is 5 to 10 minutes per episode.
Starting with the first and second episodes on Friday, the third episode on the 20th and the fourth episode on the 27th will be released.
"It was a short time, but by learning Taekwondo, I had the effect of killing two birds with one stone, not only physical training but also internal training that requires mental concentration,” said Johnson.
Along with the release of the video, a quiz event will be held. After watching the first episode video through the Kukkiwon YouTube channel, viewers can leave the answer to the quiz until the 19th. The Kukkiwon plans to present mobile coffee coupons to 50 people through drawing.
Meanwhile, Kukkiwon will release the story of Ha Kwan-yong, the men's over 80kg gold medalist at the 2022 Paralympic Games, on YouTube on the 16th in the ninth part of the “Don't Stop Taekwondo” campaign, which has been ongoing since March 2021.
