SEOUL, July 17 (Yonhap) -- A new romantic Kdrama series "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty," featuring Korea's royal cuisine, is set to premiere next month, broadcaster tvN said Thursday.

Starring Girls’ Generation member Lim Yoona and actor Lee Chae-min, the weekend series will air its first episode in August.

The story follows Jeon Ji-young (played by Lim), a chef at a French restaurant, who time-travels to the past and meets King Lee Heon (played by Lee), a so-called tyrant with an extraordinary sense of taste. Together, they embark on a journey to create the ultimate royal feast.

The drama is directed by Jang Tae-yoo, known for his work on "My Love from the Star."

Originally, actor Park Sung-hoon was cast in the role of King Lee Heon. However, he stepped down earlier this year following controversy over a social media post that included an adult-themed parody of the Netflix series "Squid Game." The role was subsequently taken over by Lee Chae-min.
