SEOUL, June 17 (Yonhap) -- LG Household & Health Care's cosmetics brand Isa Knox has launched a new high-potency vitamin C balm designed to improve dark spots at a level comparable to dermatological treatments.

 

The new product, named "Isa Knox Vitamin C 42% Mela-Off Balm," incorporates the brand's 30 years of vitamin efficacy research and was jointly developed with beauty influencer Hoho Beauty, who has 300,000 followers on Instagram.

 

The balm contains 42 percent pure vitamin C without any added water, the highest concentration of vitamin C among LG H&H's cosmetics products.

 

The company said it applied micro-coating and oil dispersion technologies to minimize discoloration, odor changes and stickiness. The formula maintained 100 percent of its antioxidant efficacy even after being exposed to temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius for 800 hours, demonstrating high stability.

According to the company, 99.7 percent of the ingredients in the balm are active ingredients, helping improve not only dark spots and blemishes but also skin tone, texture and radiance.

 

Clinical tests showed the product delivered improvements comparable to dermatological treatments. After four weeks of use, the area of dark spots decreased by 29.7 percent, the number of spots fell by 24.5 percent and pigmentation density improved by 23 percent. Surface pigmentation and deeper pigmentation were reduced by 19.8 percent and 21 percent, respectively.

 

LG H&H held a launch event on June 9, and all available inventory sold out within five minutes during a live commerce broadcast.

 

An Isa Knox official said the company closely reviewed consumer feedback to address concerns over irritation and stability associated with high concentrations of vitamin C and to provide what the official described as a practical high-potency solution for daily use.

 

"Based on Isa Knox's expertise in vitamin research, we will continue to introduce safe and effective anti-aging solutions," the official said.
