SEOUL, August 15 (Yonhap) -- Rookie K-pop girl group New Jeans set a new record for the total sales within a week of the release of debut album.
Girl group New Jean’s debut album “New Jeans” sold out over 311 thousand copies within a week of its release, according to the agency ADOR on Monday. Record set by New Jeans topped the record among K-pop girl groups.
Before New Jeans stormed in with their record, Le Sserafim’s first mini album “FEARLESS” which was released on May of 2021 had the crown by selling over 307 thousand copies within a week of its release.
Within the first day of New Jean’s debut album over 262 thousand copies were sold instantly, which eventually lead New Jeans to top the chart of the total number of debut album sold on the day of its release among K-pop girl groups.
K-pop girl group New Jeans consists of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein, and the music video for their debut track “Attention” was revealed to the public on July 22.
