Tracks from 'K-pop Demon Hunters' OST extend Billboard Hot 100 streak to 12 weeks

SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Yonhap) -- Eight songs from the original soundtrack (OST) of the Netflix animated film "K-pop Demon Hunters" have remained on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for 12 consecutive weeks.

 

According to the latest chart released Tuesday (U.S. time), the OST placed eight tracks simultaneously on the chart, led by "Golden," which stayed atop the Hot 100 for the seventh week.

 

"Soda Pop" and "Your Idol" followed at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. "How It’s Done" ranked 13th, while "What It Sounds Like" came in at 21st. "Takedown" and "Free" placed at No. 29 and No. 30. Another version of "Takedown," sung by TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung, landed at No. 68.

 

Since their simultaneous debut on the Hot 100 in July, the eight tracks have remained on the chart for 12 consecutive weeks.

 

The "K-pop Demon Hunters" OST album also retained the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 main albums chart for the second straight week.

 

Elsewhere on the Hot 100, "Gabriela" by HYBE’s global girl group Cat’s Eye ranked 56th, while TWICE’s "Strategy" entered at 69th.

 

On the Billboard 200, boy group Stray Kids’ "Karma" placed 18th, extending its run to five weeks. Katseye’s "Beautiful Chaos" came in at 29th. Rookie group Cortis’ "Color Outside the Lines" ranked 128th, and TWICE’s "This Is For" placed 171st.
