SEOUL, August 27 (Yonhap) -- The Goesan Red Pepper Festival will be held offline for the first time in three years.

Goesan county announced on August 23 that it will be holding a festival in the area of Organic Expo Plaza from September 1 till September 4 with the theme of "the mecca of organic farming, fall in love with the clean Goesan peppers."

Due to the spread of COVID-19, the event was held online for the past two years.

This year, it will attract the visitors with a variety of events including Find the Golden Pepper, Red Pepper Nanta, World Red Pepper Exhibition, Our Family's Red Pepper Cooking Contest and many more.

"Find the golden pepper," which finds products in the pile of dried red peppers, is the highlight of this festival.

In this event, where 300 people participate at the same time, once a day, bountiful prizes such as pure gold, dried red pepper, and agricultural products sets are prepared.

Although there is a participation fee of 5,000 won per person, the same amount of local currency will be exchanged with a local currency to encourage the use of local stores.

In addition, during the festival period, one can purchase a variety of agricultural specialties, including high-quality Goesan Cheonggyeol pepper, at the red pepper market.

"We will present a richer festival with thorough preparations for all the visitors," said Kim Jong-hwa, chairman of the festival.
