SEOUL, April 22 (Yonhap) -- K-pop idol boy group, SEVENTEEN's third single, "Hitori Janai" (ひとりじゃない) has topped various local music charts in Japan.
According to SEVENTEEN's agency, Pledis Entertainment on Thursday, "Hitori Janai," which was released yesterday, ranked No.1 on the Oricon Chart Daily Single Rankings and on the Japanese record sales site, HMV Online Shop.
At HMV Online Shop, all versions of the "Hitori Janai" album reached the top of the list, and preorders for the single exceeded 300,000 copies, Pledis Entertainment added.
When the song was pre-released prior to the release of the album, it topped major local music sites such as Japan's iTunes comprehensive chart and Line Music, AWA and Rakuten Music as well.
"Hitori Janai" is a song that contains the message, "I'm not alone," as SEVENTEEN sings about the courage and determination young adults have as they are about to follow their dreams.
SEVENTEEN was able to send support to their young fan base, who are living in difficult times due to the corona virus and promised to reunite with their fan club, "CARAT."
In the music video for "Hitori Janai," members of SEVENTEEN were seen spending time in different spaces, but showed how they connected through video calls and that they were headed towards the same direction of their goals.
SEVENTEEN will also hold online fan meetings and talk shows for their Japanese fans on April 27th.
