SEOUL, Aug. 1 (Yonhap) -- NewJeans' hit songs 'OMG' and 'Attention' have achieved significant streaming milestones on the global platform Spotify, surpassing 700 million and 400 million streams, respectively.
According to their agency ADOR on the 1st, 'OMG' recorded 700,351,316 streams as of the 30th of last month, while 'Attention' reached 400,131,668 streams as of the same date. 'OMG' is the first song by NewJeans to surpass 700 million streams on Spotify. 'Attention' is the fifth song by NewJeans to exceed 400 million streams.
The total Spotify streams for all of NewJeans' released songs amount to approximately 4.8 billion, as reported by ADOR.
Released in January last year, 'OMG' previously entered the US Billboard main singles chart 'Hot 100'. 'Attention', their debut song, gained immediate popularity on both domestic and international charts upon its release.
NewJeans is set to perform during halftime at the '2024 Coupang Play Series' match between Bayern Munich and Tottenham, held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 3rd.
Meanwhile, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin shared a handwritten letter from member Danielle on her social media account last night. In the letter, Danielle expressed gratitude, stating, "Although the past two years were short, they were filled with numerous events. You protected and cared for us with all your strength, making you like a mother and a truly wonderful warrior."
She continued, "We are always on your side and wish to be with you no matter what path you choose."
Since April, CEO Min has been in conflict with the parent company HYBE and has recently filed a lawsuit against the HYBE management for obstruction of business and defamation. HYBE has responded by announcing plans to counter-sue Min for false accusations.
