SEOUL, June 28 (Yonhap) -- Tampa Bay Rays' South Korean slugger Choi Ji-Man started as the fifth batter and first baseman and went one for four with 3 RBIs at the 2021 Major League Baseball game against the Los Angeles Angels at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on the 28th (KST).

The left-handed batter’s first and only hit was a homerun.

He came back with 3 runs against Angels’ right-hander Mike Mayers at the bottom of the sixth inning, with one out on first and third base, while trailing 1-2.

Choi didn’t miss the third pitch fastball when it was in the middle of two balls. This was his third home run of the season over the right wall.

Japanese Angels star Ohtani Shohei, as the second designated hitter, went three for four, drove three RBIs and one walk.

In the top of the ninth inning, Ohtani wedged a solo home run off Tampa Bay’s Pete Fairbanks, tying at second place along with San Diego Padres player Fernando Tatis Jr. as the season’s 25th home run.
