SEOUL, May 15 (Yonhap) -- SBS said Friday that comedians Kim Hye-sun, Kim Hae-jun and Na Bo-ram, star instructor Lee Ji-young and sign-language K-pop group Big Ocean will appear on its live vote-count broadcast for the June 3 local elections.
Big Ocean, recognized as the first K-pop idol group centered on sign language, will perform the campaign song "Toward Tomorrow Through Voting." The performance is intended to highlight the meaning of a barrier-free election broadcast in which no one is excluded.
Kim Hye-sun, who is also active as a jumping fitness instructor, and Kim Hae-jun and Na Bo-ram, known for their YouTube content series "Romantic Couple," will present segments reflecting on the significance of voting.
Lee Ji-young, widely known as a top instructor in social studies, will explain the significance of more than 30 years of local autonomy in South Korea through her lecture-style presentation.
SBS, known for its distinctive election graphics, said it plans to introduce extended reality visuals combining artificial intelligence technology and augmented reality for this year's coverage.
