SEOUL, July 4 (Yonhap) -- "This wasn't the usual kind of show I was familiar with. The scale was so massive that it felt overwhelming, and it took me quite some time to decide to participate."
The new KBS 2TV variety show 'Pop Up Landing Operation' will premiere on the 6th, bringing foreign delicacies to local viewers through pop-up events. Former golf player Park Se-ri, who stars in the show, shared during an online press conference on the 4th, "I thought this was outside my usual scope, but my interest in food led me to take on this new challenge."
'Pop Up Landing Operation' follows two teams: 'Team Park Se-ri' with Park Se-ri, Brian, and Kim Hae-jun, who head to Los Angeles, and 'Team Ha Seok-jin' with Ha Seok-jin, Kwak Jun-bin, and Astro's MJ, who travel to Tokyo. They visit renowned local restaurants, taste their dishes, and invite the chefs to Korea to set up pop-up stores.
Park Se-ri highlighted the unique aspect of the show: "Unlike typical travel or food shows, 'Pop Up Landing Operation' was quite different." She added, "Since it involved bringing in international brands, I put in a lot of effort to ensure we did well. There was a lot of pressure to make it fun and a strong sense of responsibility."
Ha Seok-jin from 'Team Ha Seok-jin' noted, "While food shows are common on TV and YouTube, our program allows viewers to experience the delicious food we bring directly. Sharing our experiences is the show's biggest charm."
Kwak Jun-bin mentioned, "I initially thought it would be easy to just enjoy good food and bring it back, but it was much more challenging. Viewers will see a lot of new aspects of me that haven't been shown in my YouTube content or other shows."
The pop-up stores, featuring dishes brought by the cast, will be set up at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District. Their journey will air every Saturday at 10:35 PM, starting from the 6th.
