SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) -- Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon has requested BTS to be the ambassador for the World Expo 2030 Busan to the agency HYBE, drawing attention to the results.

 

Mayor Park called Park Ji-won, the CEO of HYBE on Wednesday and explained the meaning and value of attracting the World Expo 2030 to Busan and earnestly asked the BTS to participate as an ambassador, according to Busan city on the 16th.

In response, CEO Park reportedly expressed his intention to review the proposal as positively as possible after an internal review of the artists' schedules. 


If BTS becomes the ambassador of the World Expo 2030 Busan, the group will be an official representative following actor Lee Jung-jae.


Mayor Park said, “If Lee and BTS participate as ambassadors it is expected that interest and support of World Expo 2030 Busan will be greatly amplified at home and abroad, accordingly.”
