SEOUL, May 29 (Yonhap) -- "Jae-rim is an independent and audacious character. While working on this project, I tried to embody Jae-rim's unpredictability by acting with boldness," said actress Pyo Ye-jin.

The romantic comedy drama "I Outright Dream of Cinderella" (hereafter "Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale"), starring Pyo Ye-jin and Lee Jun-young, will premiere on the 31st, reinterpreting the classic Cinderella story.

Pyo Ye-jin shared her thoughts on the drama at a production press conference held on the 29th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul's Yongsan District. She said, "When I first read the script, it was so perfect that I thought I just needed to bring the text to life."

"Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale" follows the story of Shin Jae-rim (Pyo Ye-jin), who, disheartened by life's difficulties, decides to marry a wealthy man to become Cinderella, and Moon Cha-min (Lee Jun-young), a wealthy man who doesn't believe in love.

Pyo Ye-jin plays Shin Jae-rim, who joins a high-society club called "Cheongdam Heaven" with dreams of becoming Cinderella. She explained, "The Cinderella I know is fragile and passive, but Jae-rim is someone who takes care of herself and searches for a man who will love her."

In this project, Pyo Ye-jin showcases a daring and comical performance. "I think this is the first time I've gone this far. I saw many sides of my face that I had never seen before," she noted. "I felt that I needed to go all out to bring out the comedy."

Lee Jun-young portrays Moon Cha-min, the eccentric CEO of Cheongdam Heaven, who is blessed with good looks and wealth but avoids women. He remarked, "I hope viewers find out through this project that Lee Jun-young is quite a fun guy."

The cast also includes Kim Hyun-jin as self-made film director Baek Do-hong and Song Ji-woo as Ban Da-na, who is engaged to Moon Cha-min for strategic reasons.

The drama, created by Baek Mi-kyeong, known for "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon," "Mine," and "Miracle That We Met," is penned by Yoo-ja, who previously worked with Baek as an assistant writer. Baek stated at the press conference, "Although Jae-rim dreams of being Cinderella, the drama does not conclude with the Cinderella story. If you watch until the end, you'll fully grasp the theme. It's a story that especially resonates with the MZ generation."

Directed by Kim Min-kyeong, who previously worked on tvN's "Comedy Big League" and "SNL Korea," this marks her expansion into drama. Kim said, "My rule is to avoid comedy that makes people uncomfortable, but everything else is fair game if it can be fun. The comedy has a 'go-all-the-way' feel. While the early episodes emphasize comedy, the latter part blends in a rich romance, providing diverse entertainment."

The 10-episode "Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale" will release two episodes every Friday at noon starting on the 31st.
