SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor Lee Kyu-han was recently handed over to the prosecution after being embroiled in assault allegations.

The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced Monday that it had sent Lee to the prosecution on Nov. 2 on charges of assaulting a man somewhere in Gangnam last August.

"We cannot confirm the exact charges or the details of the incident," a police official said. "The investigations took a long time because there were no security cameras filming the situation at the time and the arguments between the two sides are completely mixed."

In response, Lee came on Instragram and denied the charges, saying, "I swear on my life that I did not commit any assault or verbal abuse."

"I feel heavy-hearted for having to deliver such bad news," Lee added. "This case has worsened my panic disorder. I want to be cleared of all the charges and meet everyone as soon as possible. After recovering my health, I will clarify on everything that has happened."

Lee previously appeared in the drama "She Would Never Know" and reality entertainment show "Can We Love Again."
