SEOUL, July 10 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group TWICE will hold encore concerts for its "THIS IS FOR" world tour at KSPO Dome in Seoul's Olympic Park from Friday through Sunday, agency JYP Entertainment said.
TWICE launched the tour in Incheon in July last year and met fans through 81 concerts in 44 cities and regions around the world, including Macau, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Taipei, Boston and Vancouver.
The tour featured a 360-degree stage setup at every venue, allowing more fans to attend than a conventional end-stage configuration.
During the tour, TWICE became the first K-pop group and the first overseas artist to perform at Japan's National Stadium in Tokyo, drawing 80,000 fans per show and 240,000 over three days.
The group also performed at Japan's four major dome venues -- Kyocera Dome Osaka, Vantelin Dome Nagoya, Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka and Tokyo Dome -- attracting a combined audience of about 640,000 in the country.
Since debuting in October 2015, TWICE has steadily expanded the scale of its concert tours, beginning with its first tour in 2017. Across its previous six tours, the group staged 188 concerts in 59 cities and regions worldwide, the highest number for any K-pop girl group.
TWICE rose to prominence as one of the leading third-generation K-pop girl groups with hit songs including "Cheer Up," "TT," "LIKEY" and "What is Love?" The group also topped the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart in 2024 with its 13th mini album, "With YOU-th."
"With this encore concert marking the finale of its yearlong world tour, TWICE will present its best performance yet, showcasing the group's 11-year journey," JYP said.
