SEOUL, April 17 (Yonhap) -- Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said Friday it will revamp its online platform, the “Cosmetics Global Regulatory Harmonization Support Center,” to better assist domestic cosmetics companies’ overseas expansion.

The ministry plans to carry out the overhaul in phases through the end of this year, introducing integrated search functions, a mobile web version and customized notification services for key updates to help companies access information more easily and quickly.

The platform’s generative artificial intelligence-based consultation service, “AI CosBot,” will also be upgraded. Previously providing simple descriptive responses, the service will now deliver structured answers in the order of key summary, relevant regulatory procedures, legal basis and additional guidance.

The system will also expand its database by incorporating regulatory information from 10 additional emerging export markets, on top of the existing 10 countries, while introducing a user feedback analysis system.

Separately, the ministry said it will hold monthly “2026 Cosmetics Overseas Regulation Training” sessions through October.

The program is designed for responsible sellers and manufacturers of cosmetics, providing updates on regulatory changes and approval procedures in major export markets and emerging countries.
