SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Yonhap) -- The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next series of entries “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Ant-Man 3)” is now topping the theater ticket booking chart in South Korea six days prior to its world premiere.

The film, dubbed the entry to Phase 5 of the MCU, is scheduled to be hitting the box office on Feb. 15, and it has already dethroned the Japanese animated sports film “The First Slam Dunk” on the ticket booking chart by an inch, according to data released by the Korea Film Council Thursday.

As of 1:55 p.m. Thursday, the real-time reservation rate for “Ant-Man 3” was 21.2%, with more than 60,000 tickets already booked. “The First Slam Dunk” slid down to the second, with a 21.1% reservation rate and about 59,000 admissions reserved.

“Ant-Man 3,” starring Paul Rudd, Kathryn Newton, and Jonathan Majors, will follow the story of Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, who is transported to the Quantumania and fights against Kang the Conqueror.
