SEOUL, June 3 (Yonhap) -- Actress Kim Shin-rock (41), who showed off her impressive acting skills in Netflix’s original series “Hellbound,” will return to the stage in a play.
The play “Reparer Les Vivants” will be held from July 26th to September 4th, at the Lee Haerang Art Theater of Dongguk University, according to the performance production company, Project Group ILDA, Friday.
The play, which is held in a solo performance, unfolds over a 24-hour deadline to transport a human heart of a 19-year-old young man Simon, who was diagnosed with brain death after a tragic accident. The story is based on the 2014 novel with the same title, written by Maylis de Kerangal.
Only one actor will take the stage. A high level of acting is required since one actor will play 16 characters for 100 minutes without a break.
This is the third performance of the play in Korea after its premiere in 2019 and the one held in the National Jeongdong Theater of Korea last year.
Actors and staff who participated in the premiere including director Min Sae-rom, actors Son Sang-kyu, and Yoon Na-moo have gathered again. Kim Shin-rock and actress Kim Ji-hyun will newly join the cast.
Kim left a strong impression on the viewers after starring in the JTBC drama “Beyond Evil” and playing the role of Park Jung-ja in the globally popular series “Hellbound.”
Before starring in dramas, Kim displayed her acting skills in theater such as “Mouth Piece,” “El Critico,” and “Nokcheon has fields of shit.”
The newly cast member, Kim Ji-hyun, also showed a wide acting spectrum by starring in the musicals “Let Me Fly,” “Man of La Mancha,” and the play “Pride and Prejudice,” and the drama “Thirty-Nine.”
