SEOUL September 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean drama by South Korean broadcasting service SBS “One Dollar Lawyer” and from MBC “The Golden Spoon” are both off to a great start.
According to South Korean Television Audience Measurement Nielsen Korea on Saturday, “One Dollar Lawyer” which premiered on September 23 at 10 p.m. recorded total of 8.1 percent viewing rate.
Lawyer Chun Ji-hoon acted by Namkoong Min, with his ambition to help out poor and weak people by charging people with a lawyer fee of a dollar’s action to help out those who are in need was showcased through the first episode of “One Dollar Lawyer”.
Chun Ji-hoon decides to help out a male in his 40s who was planning on committing suicide due to the astronomical amount of debt.
Lawyer Chun Ji-hoon who decided to pay a visit to the Loan shark Baek Gom (literal translation) acted by South Korean actor Park Jae-chul, in order to negotiate on behalf of his client, encounters Baek Ma-ri acted by Kim Ji-eun, a judicial officer on probation who was going through the process of seize and search.

“One Dollar Lawyer” received a lot of positive feedback on how actor Namkoong Min does a good job in procuring just the right amount of comedic aspect which could be subject to repetitiveness and could make the audience board if done wrong.
The way protagonist bringing laughter by showing odd but yet funny action throughout the drama lawyer Chun Ji-hoon looks carefully into his clients cases in an unique perspective, Chun Ji-hoon is a charismatic but yet very charming character.
However, some of the settings throughout the series is a little bit of a push to some of the viewers, for example, pocket thieve who has been caught stealing for over 4 times mends his ways because of his ill daughter and how Chun Ji-hoon and his manager pays a hospital fee for the pocket thieve, seemed bit too much.
Another South Korean drama aired on the same day “The Golden Spoon” recorded over 5.4 percent viewing rate.
Throughout the first episode, shows a life of a very poor high school student Lee Seung-cheon acted by Yook Sung-jae how he gets bullied by kids at school because of how poor he is.
Protagonist Lee Seung-cheon who lives on with his life by relying on one of his very few friends, Park Jin-seok acted by Shin Joo-hyup, however, Park Jin-seok’s parents committed suicide due to poverty and Lee Seung-cheon’s friend Jin-seok shortly followed his parents path and leaves Seung-choen behind.
Lee Seung-cheon, who studied really hard and tried to earn as much money as he could while studying, comes across a old grandma who sells odd products, from the vendor he buys a golden spoon which can switch his parents, right as he makes a purchase the episode ends leaving the audiences eager to find out what happens next.
“The Golden Spoon” revolves around the setting of a very famous high where kids of very rich parents and shines light on the emotional suffrage and relative deprivation those who is not gifted with rich parents.
