SEOUL, Mar. 26 (Yonhap) – The story of a lead role Sun-ja, who has strength to accept her difficulties and to overcome them, and her family she protected will touch the audience.

The Apple TV+ series “Pachinko,” which drew attention by starring Youn Yuh-jung and Lee Min-ho even before its launch in Korea, was unveiled on Mar. 25. It is the second Korean original series released by Apple TV+, following "Dr. Brain” featuring Lee Sun-kyun.

Based on the namesake novel written by Korean-American author Lee Min-jin, the drama depicts the turbulent history of a Korean immigrant family moving to Japan from the 1910s to the 1980s.

The drama mainly tells the history of four generations of a Korean family from the perspective of the lead role Sun-ja across various time periods.

The first to third episodes released on Friday focused on the story of young Sun-ja and her parents living in a harsh world of Japanese colonial period in Yeongdo District in Busan, as well as the female lead who fell in true love.
