SEOUL, Sept. 26 (Yonhap) -- The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage said Friday it will sign a memorandum of understanding with Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK), a cyber diplomatic organization, to promote accurate information about Korea’s cultural heritage.

Under the agreement, the two sides plan to nurture "AI cultural heritage ambassadors" who will correct distorted or inaccurate information related to Korean heritage provided by generative artificial intelligence.

They will also work together to publicize the institute’s key activities, including research, preservation and restoration of cultural properties, as well as its accumulated research achievements, both at home and abroad.

Founded in 1999, VANK has trained Korean teenagers, young adults and overseas Koreans to serve as cyber diplomats and cultural ambassadors, spreading correct knowledge about Korea’s history and culture worldwide.
