SEOUL, Jan. 23 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group CIX will release their seventh EP album, Thunder Fever, on Thursday at 6 p.m. through various online music platforms, its agency said.

CIX returns as a four-member act, with members BX, Seunghun, Yonghee and Hyunsuk.

Thunder Fever, CIX’s first new album in a year, connects the sudden natural phenomena of thunder and fever to depict an intense emotional upheaval where anxiety and desire are intertwined, according to C9 Entertainment.

The title track, Thunder, is an electro-pop song characterized by CIX’s unique rhythm and powerful dance break. The song conveys chaotic yet intense emotions, likening a love that strongly stimulates the mind to thunder and lightning.

The album includes a total of five tracks: Bad Moves, which explores psychological conflict, portraying attraction to destructive outcomes despite knowing the consequences; My Everlasting Sun, a song of promise directed toward a person described as a sun; and two tracks—Lovers or Enemies and My Name is Shadow—that were initially released as singles but have been reimagined and completed in four-member versions.

C9 Entertainment said new album emphasizes CIX’s most distinctive sound.

On the same day as the album’s release, CIX will perform their first comeback stage on Mnet’s M Countdown. Following this, they plan to actively engage in comeback promotions through various music shows and content.
