SEOUL, Jan. 1 (Yonhap) – K-pop idol rock band DAY6’s Jae left the group, according to the agency JYP, through the official twitter account on Jan. 1.

JYP said, “Jae, who has been a member of DAY6 so far, left the team as of Dec. 31, 2021, due to his personal reasons and terminated our exclusive contract,” adding “We have had deep conversations with Jae for a long time, and decided to respect the artist’s opinions to conclude our exclusive contract.”

Jae is the eldest member of DAY6, debuted in 2015, and performed as a lead guitar, vocal, and rap.

Jay said on his twitter account, “I am so thankful for all the happy memories that I will remember for the rest of my life for the last 6 years,” adding “I have thought about it a lot and put efforts, but I think I still have flaws to stay in the group.”

He mentioned, “I have reached a decision to leave DAY6 for a while after discussing with the company,” adding “I’ll see you again with a great improvement of myself with the happy memories of practicing and sweating together for 6 years.”

In June, 2020, Jae uploaded a post of his dissatisfaction towards the company’s unfair treatments on his personal twitter account and received concerns from the public.
