SEOUL, June 8 (Yonhap) – Foreign distributor Finecut announced on June 8 that S. Korean film “Hommage” starring actress Lee Jung-eun, who appeared in the movie “Parasite” and the drama “Our Blues,” has been invited to overseas film festivals, such as London Asian Film Festival, and has confirmed its overseas release in Japan and Taiwan.
“Hommage” will meet local audiences at the 7th London Asian Film Festival, the largest Asian film festival in UK, the 21st Tribeca Film Festival in U.S., the 69th Sydney Film Festival in Australia, and the Berlin Korea Independent Film Festival in Germany, according to Finecut.
The film will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9(U.S. Time), and will be screened at the Sydney Film Festival from June 16. Director Shin Su-won will attend these film festivals and have conversation with local audiences.
Earlier, "Hommage" was invited to the 18th Glasgow Film Festival in UK and the 34th Tokyo International Film Festival and received the Best Jury Prize at the 20th Florence Korea Film Festival.
"Hommage" is also scheduled to be released in Taiwan and Japan. It is set to be released in the second half of this year in Taiwan, and the release date in Japan has yet to be confirmed.
“Hommage,” which was released in Korea on May 26, tells a fantastic time travel story of a middle-aged woman director, who is in a slump, restoring a film made by Korea’s second woman director in the 1960s, and it is directed by Shin Su-won.
