SEOUL, Dec. 20 (Yonhap) -- Busan Citizens Hall announced on Tuesday that to celebrate its 50th anniversary of opening, it will hold new year concert with Busan Philharmonic Orchestra Next January 10.
The concert will take place at the grand theater of Busan Citizens Hall at 7:30 p.m. on January 10.
2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the Hall, which opened on October 10, 1973.
Busan Philharmonic Orchestra also performed celebratory concert at the opening of the Hall in 1973 and on the 16th of the same month, it became the first ever group to hold regular concert at the grand theater of the Busan Citizens Hall.
This concert will be filled with popular and artistic musics.
Actor and MC Kim Seok-hoon will host.
Under the conducting by Choi Soo-yeoul, the artistic director of Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Cellist Song Young-hoon, violinist Danny Koo, Pianist Park Jong-hae will be on the stage.
Evaluated as the best cellist in Korea, Song Young-hoon debuted at the age of 9 through Lalo Concerto with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. He received Presidential prize in 2001, and in the next year, 2002, he won a prize at the International Paulo Cello Competition held at Helsinki, Finland.
For violin, last student of legendary Helen Kwalwasse, Danny Koo will play it.
Park Jong-hae, who shows overpowering presence and freedom on the stage, will play the piano.
Starting with Edward Elgar's "Salut d'amour," musics loved by the public such as Dvorak's Slavonic Dances, and Johann Strauss II's Poka will be performed.
Ticket prices are, 30,000 won for R seats, 20,000 won for S seats, and 10,000 won for A seats. The ticket reservation will begin on Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.(KST).
