According to Bupyeong-gu, Incheon on Friday, Incheon city recently announced a notice of registration as a registered cultural property for 10 relics from the Incheon Army Jobyeongchang and 3 relics from the Yeongdan Housing in Sangok-dong.

After the 30-day notice period, Incheon City will be deciding whether to register it as a cultural property through deliberation by the Incheon City Cultural Heritage Committee.

Considering the local historical significance and cultural value of Jobyeongchang and Yeongdan House, Bupyeong-gu had applied for designation as a registered cultural property to Incheon City.

There are 10 pieces of relics from the Jobyeongchang with bayonets, documents, and more, while in the Yeongdan Housing, there are 3 relics including a a housing sale contract, land subcontract, and a registration right.

These relics are being classified according to those that can be confirmed according to its security and operation of land for the jobyeongchang, production of munitions, and the actual conditions of forced mobilization. Particularly, notebooks and postcards found at the Jobyeongchang Skills Training Center are known to contain the reality of forced mobilization.

The documents related to Yeondang Housing are the data that supports the history of the transformation of Yeondan Housing, which is currently under redevelopment, and also contains the process of the house changing from a state-owned property to a private property after liberation.

"With this registration as a cultural property, we will do our best to make the painful history of the region an opportunity to make it a historical and cultural asset for the future," said an official from Bupyeong-gu.
