Yoo Yeon-seok, Chae Soo-bin Cast as Married Couple in MBC's new rom-com

SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- Actor Yoo Yeon-seok and Chae Soo-bin will be portraying a married couple in MBC's upcoming romantic series, tentatively titled "The Call" in English. 

 

The TV broadcaster announced on the 8th that it has finalized the casting for the new Friday-Saturday drama and are gearing up for production.

 

The drama depicts the story of a couple, who had been living together after a strategic marriage without talking to each other, receiving a threatening phone call from a kidnapper. It is based on a popular web novel of the same name.

 

Yoo Yeon-seok will play Baek Sa-eon, the youngest spokesperson for the presidential office, who is the son of a politically prestigious family with impeccable credentials.

 

As a former war correspondent in conflict zones and a hostage negotiation specialist, as well as a prominent anchor for a public broadcaster, he is a figure who garners attention wherever he goes.

 

Chae Soo-bin will take on the role of Hong Hee-joo, Baek Sa-eon's wife, who has been mute since experiencing an unfortunate accident in her childhood and has since worked as a sign language interpreter.

 

The production team stated, "With interesting additions to the beloved original work, the drama has been crafted into an irresistible story that will captivate viewers' attention."
