SEOUL, Mar. 6 (Yonhap) -- The movie "The Devil’s Deal," starring Cho Jin-woong, Lee Sung-min, and Kim Moo-yul, won the top of the box office after a competition with the Japanese animation "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba To The Swordsmith Village."
According to the Korean Film Council's Box-office Information System on Monday, "The Devil’s Deal" has topped the box office with more than 257,000 audiences for three days (3-5 days) on weekends. The cumulative number of audiences until the previous day was about 496,000.
The Japanese animation "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," which was released exclusively by CGV, was followed by 234,000 people.
However, in terms of sales, " Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" earned 2.99 billion won (24.6% of sales share) over the weekend, ahead of "The Devil’s Deal" (2.59 billion won, 21.3%).
"The First Slam Dunk," which topped the box office hit in Japanese animation the previous day, ranked third with 114,000 viewers, down one notch from the previous week.
Lim Young-woong's concert live film "I'm Hero the Final," which marked its first weekend in theaters along with "The Devil’s Deal" and "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," and "My Puppy," starring Yoo Yeon-seok and Cha Tae-hyun, ranked fourth and seventh, respectively.
