SEOUL, Feb. 27 (Yonhap) - LG Household & Health Care said Friday its luxury cosmetic brand The History of Whoo has opened a pop-up store to commemorate its win of the IR52 Jang Young-sil Award, one of the country’s most prestigious science and technology honors.
Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Industrial Technology Association, the IR52 Jang Young-sil Award recognizes companies and research institutes that have achieved outstanding technological innovation. LG H&H became the first company in the domestic cosmetics industry to receive the award for its research on NAD, a key anti-aging factor, and its “skin longevity” technology.
The brand is operating the pop-up store titled “The Secret of NAD” from Feb. 26 to March 4 at The Stage on the first floor of the Shinsegae Department Store’s Gangnam branch in Seoul. The event is designed to help visitors better understand and experience the efficacy of NAD Power24™, the signature anti-aging ingredient used in The Whoo’s “Bichup” line.
Visitors can learn in an engaging and accessible way how NAD Power24™ works on the skin through product demonstrations. The venue also features an interactive “NAD Golden Ball Game,” in which participants drop a ball from the top of a board and guide it down to a target point. All participants will receive sample kits from the Bichup line, including the “Bichup Ja Saeng NAD Power Ampoule.”
The pop-up also showcases new pictorial images of actor Kim Ji-won, the brand’s ambassador, along with a photo zone highlighting the brand’s luxury concept and atmosphere.
To celebrate the opening, the company is offering a limited-edition 50-milliliter set of the “Bichup Ja Saeng NAD Power Ampoule,” increased by 20 milliliters from the regular size. The ampoule contains about 55 billion units of NAD Power24™ per drop to help promote rapid skin renewal, the company said.
The special set includes the enlarged ampoule along with complimentary items: “Bichup Ja Saeng Essence,” “Bichup Ja Yoon Cream” and “Cheongidan Radiant Cleansing Foam.” The set will be available starting Feb. 27 at The Whoo counters in department stores nationwide.
A brand official said the event was prepared to share the company’s innovative technology and efforts to address aging, adding that customers are invited to experience The Whoo’s differentiated value through the limited-edition set and various on-site events.
