SEOUL, Jan. 26(Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group THE BOYZ’s Young-hoon(Kim Young-hoon) has tested positive for the new coronavirus, following Eric(real name Son Young-jae).

The agency IST Entertainment said through the official fan café on Jan. 26, “THE BOYZ’s Young-hoon has tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning.”

THE BOYZ’s members conducted the PCR tests as Eric tested positive on Jan. 24.

At the time, all 10 members and staffs except Eric tested negative, but Young-hoon was ultimately confirmed to be positive after conducting the PCR test again.

The agency explained, “Both THE BOYZ and staffs conducted PCR tests as we consider the incubation period of the virus right after Young-hoon tested positive, and we are currently waiting for the results.”

It added, “We are taking all necessary measures in accordance with the quarantine authorities and will faithfully cooperate with the quarantine guidelines as a top priority.”

Amid the rapid spread of omicron variant, a series of infected cases follow one after another in the music industry.
