SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- Two festivals will be held in the midst of the sweltering heat in Pyeongchang, Gangwon province, on the weekend to cool of the heat.
On Friday, the Summer-Hunter Festival will be held at Tamtti Park in Daehwa-myeon, and the Odaecheon Waternori Festival will also be held simultaneously in Jinbu-myeon.
The Summer-Hunter Festival which is facing its 8th year this year is the representative water play festival in Pyeongchang county.
With the theme of "Again Summer," this festival features a variety of experience events including Water War, Heat Hunting Pool & Aikr Bounce, and Heat Sliding Bowling.
Odaecheon Mulnori, held for the first time this year, welcomes tourists with various water activities using the clear water of Odaecheon Stream, the source of Han river.
Under the theme of "Summer N Jinbu," one will be able to experience a unique experience that is differentiated from other water festivals, including a 50-meter water sled, water kayak, ecological water playground and many more.
"We will do our best to make a pleasant festival by thoroughly preventing the spread of COVID-19 and following the safety management of water activities well," said Ji Gwang-ik, the head of the Culture and Tourism division.
