JEONJU, May 2 (Yonhap) – S. Korean actors Jeon Do-yeon, Sol Kyung-gu, and Moon So-ri have made their surprise visits to the Jeonju International Film Festival, where the special exhibition of film director Lee Chang-dong was held.
According to the Jeonju International Film Festival on May 1, the actors came up on the stage and met the audiences with director Lee before his latest short films “Heartbeat” and “Peppermint Candy” were screened at Jeonju Dome.
Moon So-ri and Sol Kyung-gu joined the two of Lee’s films, such as “Peppermint Candy(1999)” and “Oasis(2002),” while Jeon Do-yeon won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival with Lee’s “Secret Sunshine(2007).” The latest film “Heartbeat” stars Jeon Do-yeon and Sol Kyung-gu together.
Jeon said, “I’m so impressed to see the audiences on the stage in such a long time,” adding, “I appear shortly in ‘Heartbeat’ but there were no easy scenes in director Lee’s films. I hope the audiences enjoy the movie.”
Sol said, “I’m grateful that a film that has been released over 20 years ago is being screened at the Jeonju International Film Festival again.”
Moon also mentioned, “I’m happy to meet the audiences in person,” adding, “As ‘Peppermint Candy’ is a movie about time travel, I hope you enjoy the movie that has been more than 20 years.
This year’s Jeonju International Film Festival has prepared “Lee Chang-dong: The Truth of the Invisible,” the special exhibition of director Lee Chang-dong, and is currently screening all of his films.
