SEOUL, April 6th (Yonhap) -- Idol group members such as EXO's Baekhyun, Rose from BLACKPINK, Red Velvet's Wendy, and Hoshi from Seventeen have all recently distinguished themselves with solo albums.
Baekhyun, who has impressive record sales as a male solo artist, surpassed 830,000 pre-orders for his third mini album "Bambi," which was released on the 30th last month.
"Bambi" topped the iTunes Top Album Chart in 60 regions around the world and recorded "Double Platinum" for the first time this year on China's largest music site, QQ Music.
Baekhyun has sold more than 1 million copies of his second solo album "Delight," which was released last year, ultimately becoming a founding singer who has made both his group and solo album as million sellers since Seo Tae-ji.
"Bambi" will also win the title of "Double Million Sellers" if his record sales exceed 1 million.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK's main vocalist, Rose, also recently released a solo album, breaking the Korean female solo record on the British and American pop charts.
Rose's solo single title track "On the Ground" set new Korean female solo records, ranking 70th and 43rd respectively on the U.S. Billboard "Hot 100" chart and the official U.K. Singles "Top 100" Chart.
Lastly, Seventeen's performance team leader, Hoshi's first solo mix tape "Spider" was well received as it ranked within the top 10 on iTunes song charts in 48 regions.
