SEOUL December 30 (Yonhap) -- CEO Park Ji-won of the HYBE Entertainment known as home for global sensation BTS, director Hwang Dong-hyuk of “Squid Game” and more have been selected under “Variety 500 index,” published by American magazine Variety.

According to the pop culture industry on Friday, “Variety 500” featured CEO of HYBE, Park Ji-won, director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Kim Min-young, VP of Asian Pacific division of Netflix and more.

“Variety 500” is a segment where Variety selects 500 of the various business owners which showcased great impact annually. Bang Si-hyuk the CEO of HYBE, Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos, and more have been selected in the past.

Variety addressed CEO of HYBE Entertainment Park Ji-won as “Park has focused on aligning business structures and practices within HYBE America and HYBE Japan.”

CEO Park Ji-won receives a lot of positive feedback and comments on his effort to align all three headquarters located within South Korea, Japan, and United States, and successfully showcased multi label situation which showcase independent creation of music and activities based on its locations.

“Variety 500” included Scooter Braun, the CEO of HYBE America. Scooter Braun addressed “It was an impressive year seeing Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, HYBE America and more.”

Moreover the list showcased those who made history by getting nominated in 13 of the segments within Emmy Awards and won 6 of them with non English series for the first time in history.

Throughout the list, director Hwang Dong-hyuk was described as “Asian cinema aficionados, he was not well known to American audiences. That all changed with his Netflix series “Squid Game,” a darkly comedic, dystopian tale of 456 debt-addled people competing in deadly children’s games for the chance to win $35 million.”

Kim Min-young, VP of Asian Pacific division of Netflix was also featured on the list. Variety described Kim Min-young as “She and her team are responsible for one of Netflix’s biggest-ever hits: the global phenomenon “Squid Game.””
