SEOUL, Dec.22 (Yonhap) -- A song sung by EBS' popular character, Pengsoo, will be released to encourage visits to Korean's cultural heritage.

Cultural Heritage Administration and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation have announced to introduce a singing video of ‘Korean Heritage Campaign’ through the campaign YouTube channel on Dec.22 at 8 p.m.

Pengsoo's 1 minute long song features a friendly melody and lyrics that say, "The path accumulated in time, let's walk together on the the path that history has taken." 

Pengsoo participated in shooting as a king wearing a Dragon robe, a woman wearing a Hanbok skirt, a clown performing a lion mask dance, and a peasant who wants to become a king at Gyeongbokgung Palace, which is included in one of the 10 courses of the Korean Heritage Campaign.

In the video, major halls of Gyeongbokgung Palace appear, such as Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, Gwanghwamun, Geunjeongjeon, and Gyeonghoeru, which have recently been restored and maintained.

The Cultural Heritage Administration will also release another video on Dec.29, showing the atmosphere of the filming site and the production process.

An official from Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation said, "I hope that the true value of our cultural heritage will be widely known through songs where Pengsoo's charms are added," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to promote the campaign to visit cultural heritage in easy and interesting ways."
