SEOUL, Aug. 12 (Yonhap) -- Korean-style jaingshi film "Jiangshi: Horror Workshop," about office workers fighting to survive a jiangshi, has begun filming, CJ ENM, the film's investor and distributor, said Wednesday.

 

The film follows employees of Dongbang Savings Bank who awaken a jiangshi that has been asleep for 400 years during a workshop trip over a long holiday weekend.

 

Described as a "K-Jiangshi" comedy, the film combines relatable, realistic office-worker characters with bizarre exorcism action.

 

Ahn Jae-hong stars as Mu Dok-seong, the youngest employee at the bank's Manggeum-dong branch and an assistant manager recruited as a special hire for his background as a taekwondo athlete.

 

Yoon Kyung-ho, known for his witty performances, plays A-pa-dong, a longtime assistant manager, while Lee Da-hee takes on the role of team leader Jeong Ji-seon.

 

Kim Ji-eun, known for the drama "One Dollar Lawyer," and Lee Hak-joo, known for the drama "Artificial City," will also appear, along with Go Chang-seok, Kim Hak-cheol and Kang Ae-shim.

 

Woo Moon-gi, who drew attention with the independent film "The King of Jokgu" (2013), directs the film.
